The navigation of Vessels entering Muara Port and the Pilotage services, come under the purview of the Marine Department. This Department will provide Towage and Tug Boat services where necessary.

The land-side operations of the Port, is totally under the management of the Ports Department. This Department controls the activities within the Port area and is fully responsible to negotiate tariff rates and other incentive schemes to develop the Port business.

Muara Port offers a very flexible Two-Shift system, from 0700 hours until 2200 hours. The second shift being capable of providing an extended service on request. This enables the port to utilize manpower and equipment to its optimum. Thus producing very high levels of productivity.

All Vessels are provided with an efficient and cost effective service, backed by a fleet of modern shore equipment run by experienced personnel.

Being a Government body, the Ports Department basically provides the infra-structure for the smooth running of all Port Operations, which are very efficiently managed and run by the Private Sector. Thereby the Port-User has the added advantage and benefit of having the high cost infra-stucture provided by the Government, and the Port Services provided by an efficient Private Sector.

The services provided by the Private Sector includes all Stevedoring services, Shore Crane Services and Cargo Handling Forklift Equipment. This is supplemented with the Yard Container Handling Equipment owned and operated by experienced Port personnel.

In addition to the overall physical supervision and monitoring of operational performance by Ports Department personnel, Vessel Productivity, Vessel turnaround time, and Berth throughput are closely monitored with the aid of modern computer equipment, to ensure that the accepted performance indicator targets are maintained all times. These performance indicators are very closely and consistently monitored by the Port Management to confirm that accepted industry norms are maintained during every stage of the Port operation. By this we guarantee our committment to providing a dedicated service to all Ship Owners and other Port Users.
